Orion Academy has an all-inclusive system to support student learning in every manner and ensure the well-being of everyone in the school’s community. We welcome guardians and wards countrywide to apply to Orion Academy. Admissions into the school operates a seasonal system which means that admissions will be accepted at specifically communicated periods during the year.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Step 1 – Document Submission:

Face to face or online submission are accepted. Before the admission committee will review any application, the following documents must be prepared together with your application form.

The application checklist:

• Completed Orion Academy application form and health form
• The most recent two years of school records
• A letter of recommendation from the teacher(s) of the last year attended
• A photocopy of the student’s inoculations/immunization records
• Payment of a non-refundable application fee (wire transfer or cash)

Step 2- Testing:

For admission to Orion Academy, an Entry Test is required. Testing results are the property of Orion Academy only and will not be shared publicly.

Step 3 – Decision Criteria:

Only when all documents are received will admission decisions be made. Decisions are based on a careful examination of each student’s ability to achieve success in an atmosphere of high expectations and within the context of an English language-learning (ELL) environment. In making this assessment, Orion Academy will evaluate each candidate’s spoken English proficiency, demonstrated academic achievement and social/behavioral history.

All applicants must be interviewed by an Orion Academy Director or designate before a final admission decision is made.

Parents should note that class size/space availability, Federal ministry of education guidelines, also affect admission recommendations.

Step 4 – Admission Status:

The Director will inform parents of one of the following admission decisions via a written letter.

Accepted – If a student has qualified and if space allows, the student will be placed in the appropriate grade level. A provisional acceptance may be granted when an interview with the applicant or oral testing of the student remains outstanding.

Not Eligible – The applicant does not meet Orion Academy eligibility and requirements for admission at this time. The decision is based on one or more of the aforementioned criteria.
